Try 3 4MA1 questions like these

Written and checked by us, not taken from the Pearson paper. Tap "Worked answer" to see every step.

  1. Decimals · 2 marks

    Work out \(3.6 \times 0.25\)

    Worked answer
    1. 36 × 25 = 900.
    2. 3.6 has 1 decimal place and 0.25 has 2, so the answer has 3: 0.900 = 0.9.

    Answer: \(0.9\)

  2. Transformation geometry · 2 marks

    The points \(P(4, 6)\) and \(Q(8, 2)\) are enlarged by scale factor \(\frac{1}{2}\) with centre \((0, 0)\).

    (a) Write down the coordinates of the images \(P'\) and \(Q'\).

    (b) The length \(PQ\) is about 5.66 cm. Work out the length \(P'Q'\).

    Worked answer
    1. (a) Multiply each coordinate by ½.
    2. (b) Every length is multiplied by the scale factor: 5.66 × ½ = 2.83 cm (the angles do not change).

    Answer: (a) \(P'(2, 3)\), \(Q'(4, 1)\) (b) \(2.83\) cm

  3. Graphical representation of data · 2 marks

A pie chart shows how 1800 people voted in an election. The angle of the sector for Party A is 140°.

How many people voted for Party A?

    Worked answer
    1. 140/360 × 1800 = 700.

    Answer: \(700\)

Questions students ask

Where is the June 2024 Paper 2F mark scheme?

The mark scheme button above opens Pearson's own copy.

What are the grade boundaries for 4MA1 June 2024?

Pearson publishes the official boundaries for every series on its grade boundaries page (opens in a new tab). They are set for the qualification (both papers together), so we link there rather than quote them.

What is the difference between 1F and 1FR?

R papers are the version sat in some time zones. They follow the same specification, length and mark scheme style, so both are good practice.
