  1. HCF, LCM and Prime Factors

    Write 1260 as a product of prime factors in index form.

    Worked answer
    1. \(1260=2\times630=2\times2\times315\).
    2. \(315=3\times105=3\times3\times35=3\times3\times5\times7\).
    3. So \(1260=2^2\times3^2\times5\times7\).

    Answer: \(2^2\times3^2\times5\times7\)

  2. Percentages

    £2 500 is invested at 4% per year compound interest. Find its value after 3 years.

    Worked answer
    1. Multiplier: 1.04.
    2. \(2500\times1.04^3=2812.16\).

    Answer: £2 812.16

  3. Rearranging Formulae

    Make \(h\) the subject of \(A=2\pi r^2+2\pi rh\).

    Worked answer
    1. Subtract \(2\pi r^2\): \(A-2\pi r^2=2\pi rh\).
    2. Divide by \(2\pi r\): \(h=\dfrac{A-2\pi r^2}{2\pi r}\).

    Answer: \(h=\dfrac{A-2\pi r^2}{2\pi r}\)

What is the difference between 1H and 1HR?
